Maura Daniels is a pseudonym that was born from a variation of my first name and a lifelong love for the last name Daniels. I’m a post-undergraduate student with a B.A. in Psychology, knowledge of Sociology, and a passion for English. I have a rat terrier named Chase, two sisters, and still call New York my home even though I now reside in Florida.
I’ve always had this secret wish to be a writer. As birthdays came and went, and I learned that money really makes the world go ’round, I forced myself to find a new dream. Veterinarian, lawyer, music engineer, journalist. You name it, I’ve thought of it. But at the end of the day, I’d find my pent up creativity made my fingers twitch. I’d be walking and suddenly start narrating to myself about a girl who was climbing a seemingly endless staircase that spiraled up to nothingness. That was how I knew I couldn’t give up the childhood dream I had tried to destroy, bury, and forget.
Now, I work on my writing as often as I can. I have a few pieces I hope to finish and get published. Then there are pieces I visit every so often just to keep my mind active and jump those writer block hurdles. Wish me luck. While you’re at it, let me know what you think and drag a friend back. Only way to make it is with supporters. Won’t you be mine?
