dry rose hdr by Homera Chapa via http://www.stockvault.net

He couldn’t sleep in that bed no matter how hard he tried.

Roses laid with grease and leather in that bed; thorns forgotten

Calloused hands roamed the highs and lows of hardened skin in that bed; defenses forsaken

Brown eyes swirled and danced together in that bed; secrets bared

Wealth and fortune knew humility in that bed; promises shared

But cold nights crept into that bed; uncertainty heavy

Sweet embraces from the past turned into the cruelest enemy in that bed; memories unbearable

There was no sleeping in that bed

Not now.

Not ever.

No more.
